A common question before any outstation trip is simple: "What will I actually pay?" A good cab company tells you clearly before you travel. Here is how each part of an outstation bill works at SwiftLux, so there are no surprises.

1. The trip fare

The fare you see when you book covers the car, the driver and the distance for your trip:

  • One way: the drive from your pickup to your drop.
  • Round trip: the car and driver for the number of days you book, with a set number of kilometres included.

The fares on our website include GST. The exact fare for your date and car is shown before you confirm. Festival and holiday dates can cost more because demand is higher.

2. Extra kilometres

On a round trip, your booking includes a number of kilometres. If you travel more, for example a side trip to a temple or extra local driving at your destination, the extra kilometres are charged at the extra km rate shown on your booking. The driver notes the odometer reading at the start and end of the trip, and your bill shows the actual distance.

3. Tolls

Highways like the Mumbai–Pune Expressway and the Pune–Solapur highway have toll plazas. Unless your booking says tolls are included, tolls are paid as actual: the amount on the receipts, nothing added. The driver keeps the receipts and they appear on your bill.

4. Parking

Parking at airports, railway stations, temples, malls and hotels is also paid as actual unless your booking includes it. Airport parking in particular depends on how long the car waits.

5. Driver allowance

On longer trips, especially round trips over several days, a driver allowance covers the driver's meals. If it applies to your trip, it is shown on your booking and your bill.

6. Night charges

When the driver has to drive late at night, a night charge may apply. If your trip includes night driving, this is shown on your booking.

7. What you will see at the end of the trip

At the end of the trip, the driver enters the closing odometer reading, tolls, parking and any other actual expenses. You get a clear bill showing:

  • The trip fare
  • Extra kilometres, if any
  • Tolls and parking, as per receipts
  • Driver allowance and night charges, if they apply
  • Any amount you already paid, and the balance to pay

You can pay the balance in cash, by UPI, or online by scanning a payment QR code on the driver's phone.

How the car you choose affects the fare

A bigger car costs more to run, so the fare and the extra km rate depend on the car:

  • Hatchback: the most economical, for up to four people with light luggage.
  • Sedan: more boot space and comfort for up to four people.
  • MPV (6 seats): more seats and luggage space for families of five or six.

When you book, you see the fare for each car side by side, so you can choose what suits your group and budget.

Why festival and holiday dates can cost more

On dates like Diwali, Ganeshotsav, long weekends and wedding season, many people travel at the same time and cars are in high demand. Fares on these dates can be higher than on a normal weekday. The exact fare for your date is always shown before you confirm, so you can compare dates if your plans are flexible. Booking early for festival travel also helps you get the car you want.

Tips to keep your trip cost predictable

  • Share your full plan when booking, including any side trips, so the fare and kilometres match what you need.
  • Ask before adding stops on a round trip if you want to know the effect on extra kilometres.
  • Keep an eye on the odometer reading at the start; the driver records it in the app.
  • Choose a one-way cab when you do not need the car to wait. See one-way cab vs round trip.
